Are you a passionate ARD Facilitator ready to empower students and schools? Here’s what you’ll need to join our team:
Education: A bachelor’s degree in Education, Special Education, or a related field is required. A master’s degree in Educational Leadership, Special Education, or a related discipline is preferred but not required.
Certification: Valid Texas Educator Certification is required. Additional certifications, such as Principal Certification or Special Education Certification, are preferred but not required.
Specialized Knowledge: In-depth understanding of special education laws, including the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), and the Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) process is essential.
Skills: Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills, with the ability to facilitate meetings effectively and ensure compliance with federal, state, and district guidelines.
Additional Requirements: Familiarity with data-driven decision-making, student assessment, and individualized education program (IEP) development. CPR certification is preferred.
Language Proficiency: Bilingual preferred but not required.
Your Role:
As an ARD Facilitator in Texas public schools, you will play a vital role in supporting students with diverse learning needs by ensuring a collaborative, compliant, and student-centered ARD process. Your responsibilities will include:
Facilitate ARD Meetings: Plan, coordinate, and lead ARD committee meetings to develop, review, and revise Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students receiving special education services.
Ensure Compliance: Maintain adherence to federal and state special education laws and district policies, ensuring that all ARD committee decisions meet legal requirements and best practices.
Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with parents, teachers, administrators, related service providers, and other team members to ensure clear communication and shared decision-making during the ARD process.
Support IEP Development: Guide the team in creating IEPs that are specific, measurable, and tailored to each student’s unique strengths and needs, ensuring alignment with academic and functional goals.
Monitor Progress: Assist in tracking student progress toward IEP goals by reviewing data, providing recommendations, and ensuring appropriate adjustments are made when necessary.
Provide Training and Support: Offer training and support to staff on ARD processes, special education laws, and best practices to ensure consistency and compliance across the district.
Maintain Documentation: Ensure all ARD-related documentation, including meeting notices, minutes, and finalized IEPs, is completed accurately and within required timelines.
